Botany - Education
Welcome to Our Louisiana Garden. We live in Southeast Louisiana, where the winters are mild, and the summers are scorching. Our climate, common to much of the coastal South from Houston to Mobile, is marked by mild winters (average minimum 15F) and hot, muggy summers. Gardening can be difficult here. We are listed in Zone 8b, Sunset Zone 28, but plants frequently identified as suited for Zone 8 do not survive here, due to the intense heat in the summer, as well as too much rain and lack of cold in winter.
