"That's What I Think"
editorials by Dave Parker

Thank God For His Mercy!

The person who is not thrilled at the thought of God's mercy knows nothing of His wrath and holiness. Lamentations 3:22 declares, "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed... In Deuteronomy 9:8 Moses said, "Also in Horeb ye provoked the Lord to wrath, so that the Lord was angry with you to have destroyed you. In Genesis 6:5-7 The Bible says, "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the Lord said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Above I listed only three Biblical accounts of the wrath of God against unrighteousness. Actually, the Bible contains many warnings to people who persist in their wicked ways.

There are two words often used in the Bible that are commonly misunderstood. They are: Mercy and Grace.

Mercy - Not getting the punishment that we do deserve.

Grace - Receiving blessing that we don't deserve.

Unfortunately, over the last 30 some years in America the Clergy have spent most of their time emphasizing God's Love and Grace and have almost totally neglected preaching on His holiness and wrath against sin. The result is, the people have come to believe they actually deserve the blessings that God gives to them. Thus, the term "Grace" has been perverted and many in Christendom are regularly practicing sin without the slightest concern over their condition. The fact is, those who don't repent will most certainly experience God's wrath. That also goes for our country which, with few exceptions, has rejected His authority. Woe is us! May the Lord have mercy on The United States of America! Apart from repentance, the judgment of God is coming very soon. It might even come today!

These editorials will not always be a daily product. However, as I am able I will endeavor to bring to writ my reflections on society.

Have the best day you have ever had and may they get progressively better every day hereafter!
