"That's What I Think"
editorials by Dave Parker

We are living in dangerous times!

There is uneasiness in the air throughout America. There is evidence that many persons are gravely concerned; concerned about their finances, about terror, about our out of control government, of the lack of discipline of nearly the entire society, etc.! We don’t know who to trust. Yet in the face of this unusual trauma, few are changing their life style.

I have often said in the past, the church is so ignorant of the Bible that I don’t believe they even know what sin is any more. Most of the clergy are not teaching what sin is. One of the most glaring sins is, not instructing ourselves in the Holy Will of God. It is not an option! 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Get it? That is a command, not just an idea to consider and forget. Yet, when did you listen to a preacher tell his congregation that they must become knowledgeable about The Scriptures? I can’t remember when I last heard that in Church and I go to a good church.

We all know we are supposed to please God. How do we please Him when we don’t know (from the Bible) what pleases Him?

There is another problem. Many people “cherry pick” the Bible. In other words, “I don’t like what it says there. I’m not going to do that!” On the other hand they might follow other instructions which they find more palatable. That is “cherry picking”. Hate to break it to you but that does not fly with God.

This is what The Lord told Jeremiah,
"This is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD's house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the LORD. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.”
Jeremiah 26:2  Thus, it is obvious that we need to follow all of scripture which is The Holy Written Will Of God for humankind.

There are grave consequences to all of the above. All you need to do is read Deuteronomy 28 to understand how severe those consequences are. I highly recommend that we all devour this chapter and thereby, determine with our entire beings to please The Lord, trusting in the power of His Holy Spirit for what we need to be faithful in that commitment. Every person who sincerely determines to be that kind of individual will certainly find The Spirit willing and able to equip us to the task. Many blessings on your journey!

Maranatha! The Lord Jesus is soon coming for His own, very soon! Rejoice, assuming you are one of God's people! If you are not, please give your life to Him today before it is too late! You'll be so glad you did!

These editorials will not always be a daily product. However, as I am able I will endeavor to bring to writ my reflections on society.

Have the best day you have ever had and may they get progressively better every day hereafter!
