God is Great!
God does not depend on anything for His continued existence. Isaiah 43.10 says, "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
God is entirely distinct from the universe, just as any designer is distinct from what they create. Isaiah 4:22 says, " Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
God is present with and in the world. Deuteronomy 4:7 says, "For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?"
God never changes nor can He change with respect to His being, attributes, purpose, or promises. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever." Further, in John 10:30, Jesus said, "I and my Father are one."
God is eternal. He is infinite with respect to time. Psalms 90:10 says, "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."
God transcends all space and spatial limitations. He is present everywhere. I Kings 8:27 says, "But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?"
God is all powerful. He can do anything consistent with the perfection of His being. Genesis 18:14 says, "Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son."
God knows all things, including events before they happen. Isaiah 41:22-23 says, "Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them."
God is Spirit. He has no body parts nor does He require anything of a material nature. John 4:24 says, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."
God is the creator of all things. John 1:3 says, "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
God is morally perfect and does only good. Psalms 5:4 says, "For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee."
Finally, I Chronicles 16:23-30a says, "23 Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation. 24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvelous works among all nations. 25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 26 For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. 27 Glory and honor are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place. 28 Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. 29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. 30 Fear before him, all the earth: ..." To that I say a hearty, Amen!
